A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a standardized assessment process to determine an individual's ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, crouching and reaching.

The goal of the FCE is to predict functional and workday tolerances, determine occupations client is able to perform safely, identify need for further management and offer recommendations in this regard.

The FCE is performed in its entirety by registered physiotherapists.  A standard assessment lasts 4 hours.  Two day FCEs are also available.

The Blankenship Behavioural Profile is used for validity, consistency of effort, pain magnification, and inappropriate illness behaviour.

A comprehensive, easy to read written report is provided with in 1 week following the evaluation.
